Data the site collects

Server logs. The site serves static pages. The web server records standard access logs: IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp & referrer. Logs exist for security, abuse prevention & debugging, live with the hosting provider on its infrastructure, and age out on its retention schedule. Under GDPR, this processing runs on legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)).

Contact email. Mail sent to the contact mailbox stays in that mailbox while the thread is open, then gets archived. It feeds editorial work alone: corrections, fact-checks & practitioner interviews.

Cookies. The site sets zero cookies of its own as of the effective date. If analytics or advertising tooling gets added later, this page will name the tool, what it collects & how to opt out, before the tooling ships.

What happens with the data

Reader data stays away from sale, rent, or trade. The parties with technical access are the hosting provider (server logs, as part of running the server) and the email provider (contact mail, as part of running the mailbox).

Your rights

Under GDPR & CCPA you can request access to, correction of, or erasure of personal data the site holds about you. For most readers that amounts to server-log entries and any email you sent. Requests go to contact@competitiveintelligencetools.com; expect an answer within 30 days.
